Chemocatalysis

It is estimated that more than 80% of all products manufactured nowadays involve catalysis in their production chain. Chemocatalysis with homogeneous, heterogeneous, or organocatalysts offers unique solutions for the synthesis of complex molecules in terms of cost, short-cuts, and waste reduction.

The ChemoCatalysis department at InnoSyn has ample experience in developing scalable processes based on new or existing catalysts. Our approach towards the development of a catalytic process relies on i. unbiased high-throughput screening of heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysts as well as ligands (developed in-house or commercially available with FTO) to identify suitable catalyst systems and conditions within days; ii. homogeneous catalyst engineering by design and preparation of metal precursors and ligands if called for by an unfulfilling state of the art; iii. controlling catalyst activation and deactivation by conditions that turn on its activity and prevent its degradation or poisoning. These activities may be accompanied by cost price calculations to steer the project in the direction that enables commercial implementation.
